Sebastian Ruggiero

Sebastian Ruggiero was born and lives in Sardinia. Graduated from the Faculty of Letters of Cagliari, he was a primary school teacher for nineteen years. He subsequently obtained two Master's degrees for school administration and management of complex organizations, and since September 2019 he has held the position of School Director at the Arbus Comprehensive Institute (Su).
He loves his work and is a passionate reader, from Stephen King to Fyodor Dostoevsky, through Agatha Christie and children's literature. He has been writing since he was a teenager and over the years he has obtained various awards and mentions in literary competitions.
Intrigo sull'Olimpo (2023) is his debut novel, published by the publisher Giovane Holden Edizioni: a contemporary retelling of the myth of Persephone's kidnapping.
With Intrigo sull'Olimpo, Ruggiero won the 2023 Casentino Prize for the Novel and Mythology Section, a mention of merit for the Prize Firenze Capitale D'Europa, and honorable mention at the XIII edition of the International Literary Prize Un libro amico per l'inverno.
In 2024, the anthology A cantar d'amore was released in April 2024, edited by Vincenzo Soddu, where among the compositions there is a short story by Ruggiero, and Il fato racconta... Prometeo e Fetonte (Erickson Live).
